It is rare for a law firm to have a doctor on staff. At Plakas Mannos, we recognize the value of having an in-house medical analyst on staff, especially complex medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury cases. Our in-house doctor, Dr. Allison Kreiner, or “Dr. Allie”, is a licensed physician and trained in OB/GYN. She also has a paralegal degree, and years of experience working in the medical field as well as the legal field.
Dr. Allie’s unique blend of medical and legal knowledge positions her as an invaluable asset to our firm, enabling our team to understand the nuances of our clients’ cases, and thus aid our clients in achieving justice. Having an in-house medical analyst at our law firm gives our attorneys additional medical insight when evaluating complex cases.
When we first met Dr. Allie over four years ago, she expressed a desire to affect change using her expertise in both medicine and law, and with each client and case we work on, we strive to support her in making that vision a reality.
Dr. Allie was born and raised in Alliance, Ohio. She attended Walsh Jesuit High School, The Ohio State University and completed her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University. After finishing her medical residency, Dr. Allie moved to Peru where she did medical volunteer work for several years, providing medical care to underserved populations.
Upon coming back to the United States, Dr. Allie realized that her passion for caring about others and wanting to be of service might look different than she had always envisioned. In the institutional medical/hospital/nursing home industries, patients oftentimes have no advocates and simply become part of the system. So, instead of returning to medical practice, Dr. Allie chose to pursue a paralegal studies degree to learn how her medical skills could combine with her legal skills so she could be an advocate for helping others on a larger scale. While completing her paralegal education, she volunteered at Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, volunteering to help lower income individuals and families obtain justice and understand their legal rights. She was also recognized for her tireless service to Legal Aid by being awarded the 2022 Legal Aid Society of Cleveland Access to Justice Award.
