Plakas Mannos is proud to support the Paul and Carol David Foundation as Massillon City Schools moves forward with the Legacy Alumni Center of Excellence at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

The project is the next step in the Foundation’s long-standing DREAM initiative, Developing Resources in Education and Athletics in Massillon, which has helped expand opportunities for students through career-tech programming, college-readiness support, athletic training, scholarship opportunities, and broader student development.

A Project Built for Students and the Community

The Legacy Alumni Center of Excellence reflects a substantial investment in Massillon students and the broader community. The new facility is expected to include sports medicine and recovery areas, an assembly hall, meeting space, equipment storage, and other resources designed to support student programming.

The project also carries forward a meaningful piece of Massillon history. The David family’s connection to Massillon traces back generations, including a deep personal and professional relationship between Paul David and legendary coach Paul Brown. That bond helped shape a lasting commitment to the community and inspired a desire to give back to a place that has meant so much to generations of students, families, and alumni.

That legacy now continues through a project built for the future. The Foundation’s commitment extends well beyond athletics, including scholarships, educational programs, community organizations, and local initiatives. That broader purpose of community benefit is central to the project.

Expanding Opportunity for the Community

In addition to supporting student-athletes, the facility is expected to create opportunities for career-tech education, employer engagement, student presentations, scholarship programming, and community use. The assembly hall and meeting spaces create a natural setting for scholarship presentations, employer-led programs, career-focused classes, and student development events.

As the project moves forward, the space will support programming with local businesses, trades, healthcare professionals, colleges, and community leaders. Those programs will give students practical exposure to careers in skilled trades, nursing, business, and other pathways connected to life after graduation.

Those opportunities reflect the larger vision behind DREAM: helping students prepare for success in school, work, and life.

Massillon’s athletic tradition is part of that story. So are education, mentorship, workforce readiness, philanthropy, and community pride.

Where Plakas Mannos Plays a Role

Projects of this size require careful planning, strong partnerships, and a shared commitment to the future. Plakas Mannos is honored to work with the Paul and Carol David Foundation on an initiative designed to benefit Massillon students, Stark County, and communities across Ohio for years to come.

We congratulate the Foundation, Massillon City Schools, alumni, local businesses, and community partners helping bring this vision to life.
