Sports Law Practice

TZANGAS, PLAKAS, MANNOS & RAIES, LTD. has had extensive experience in Sports Law practice. Our attorneys have had significant involvement in both sports litigation and sports business transactions.

We have represented professional athletes, several professional teams, and served for over ten years as league legal counsel for the National Professional Soccer League, which included 14 professional teams across the United States and Canada. In our capacity as league counsel, we have had valuable experience in sports litigation issues involving anti-trust, labor law, player and team contractual disputes, as well as sports business litigation between teams and between teams and their governing league.

We are also involved in a wide range of sports business transactions. We have helped to establish or reorganize sports leagues, drafted and enforced sports by-laws, rules and regulations, been involved with team and public facility lease issues, helped in business strategic planning for leagues and teams, drafting and negotiation of media contracts, and provided legal advice and services on a full range of business and legal issues which confront players, teams and leagues who are engaged in the sports law business.
